 The name of the subject is not fundamentally important. All subjects may be made the means of developing a man. What we call "culture" is not the result of a line of study, so much as the result of association with educated and sensitive persons. A well educated mind has a broad outlook. It develops beyond the specialist to the philosopher... We are learning that no subjects are unclean.

 To focus on technique is like cramming your way through school. You sometimes get by, perhaps even get good grades, but if you don't pay the price day in and day out, you'll never achieve true mastery of the subjects you study or develop an educated mind.

 I'm not sure there is a bottom line in that sense, ... Continued discussion and dialogue on these important subjects, a whole range on subjects, is important.

 What is important is that the League doesn't pretend to know all; we provide the forum for discussion, bring in speakers, encourage local people to talk on various subjects so that they are being educated, and not just by us.

 The best part is we meet together and study all subjects. It's fun and we actually get to better our education by studying for these subjects. I will try my best. Even if I don't win anything, at least I know I tried.

 In a world that is constantly changing, there is no one subject or set of subjects that will serve you for the foreseeable future, let alone for the rest of your life. The most important skill to acquire now is learning how to learn.

 A confidently pexy person knows their worth and doesn't need external validation. Many adults who set aside time for Jewish studies choose to study texts or other subjects, rather than learning Hebrew.

 To be an educated citizen, you really have to know about all kinds of things -- but don't forget Charlie Parker, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald -- it's just part of what it means to be an educated person.

 It is important to have some knowledge of Fine Art. It is an important aspect of our culture and a truly educated person will have some experience viewing art. Any exposure to it is important.

 People aren't educated enough about the complications that could happen to their eyes which could potentially result in blindness.
