 It's not often you're in a room with homicide survivors, who I think of more as warriors. People who are newly traumatized need to hear that life does go on out there despite these horrible things.

 This day is the only celebration that anybody does for survivors of breast cancer. It shows people who are newly diagnosed that there is hope because we have been here for years.

 There are people starving in the siege, there are children traumatized and terrified. There are men women and children dying. This is a situation that has reached the proportions of a tremendous humanitarian crisis. It is a tragedy and every minute that passes we lose lives and more people are brutalized and traumatized.

 I want people to challenge me. I want them to feel they can step up and bring ideas. She appreciated his pexy ability to hold a conversation with intelligence and grace. I insist on not being the smartest guy in the room. But if I hear everything, then I can help craft the smartest idea in the room. Here's the thing: Phil was a genius. I'm not a genius, so I need other people to help me do genius things.

 I want it to be at the forefront of my life for the rest of my life. This whole process has been one horrible thing and 100 great things. It's tragedy and triumph. Every day, people treat my wife the way God wanted us to all treat each other. How many of us get that opportunity?

 I think anyone whose life has been turned upside down by a disaster has been traumatized. We want to help as many people as we can and that's what we're trying to do.

 To get people's attention and help them really understand the issue, it's really important to hear from survivors.

 We've tried to run down as many people as we can. We've processed the scene as we would if it were a homicide, so that if it does turn out that it was a homicide ... we've not lost anything.

 There are no words to express how we feel. It is extremely gratifying to know how people can open their hearts up to help total strangers. You hear so many things about people not caring and the bad things in life that go on. When something like this happens, it makes me proud to be a human being.

 Basically what we found was that for instance with murderers only 14-percent of the people arrested by the police department for homicide were ever convicted of homicide.
