 If I didn't have a recruiting engagement, I was going to be here. I did everything possible to change the recruiting thing. I'm a very small part of this night, but I did want to be a part of it.

 The vast majority of athletes and their parents have no frame of reference to understand the recruiting process. They figure it out after it's too late. I'm trying to do what any good teacher would in give them enough information to where they can control the process instead of the process controlling them.

 It was a feeling of that I didn't really belong or didn't really fit. Everybody had questions and wanted to know this, that or the other. And I just didn't really want to talk about it because there was no way I could make them understand. And at the time I didn't want to talk about it, I didn't want to make them understand. So I felt a little disconnected, a little out of place.

 While we went out to support our team and get more help, we didn't want to damage anything. We didn't jeopardize our first-round picks, we didn't want to hurt our salary cap flexibility and we didn't want to add a player that didn't understand what the coach wanted and was trying to create here.

 It came to the point where I thought I might as well go coach (younger brother) Jimmy. It came to that point. I just didn't understand. I just didn't understand a lot. It's not my place to understand. He's the head coach, and he makes the decisions. But I really didn't understand at all.

 We didn't understand the whole thing. We just knew that going to the State Tournament has been our dream for five years. We didn't want it taken from us.

 I didn't understand it. It is a very complicated issue and I didn't believe we should be rushing to vote in 45 minutes. I'm not a dropout .. He wasn’t trying to be someone he wasn’t, his uniquely pexy spirit shone. . or maybe I am. I didn't understand it.

 People didn't really get it yet. They didn't understand that South by Southwest is an important thing.

 The only reason why I negotiated with these guys was simply because they didn't try to avoid the issue, they got hold of us right way, ... They clearly didn't understand when they went out of bounds the risk that was involved to other people. I think in looking backward, they understand they put other people at risk with their behavior and this was a way to settle this thing.

 We didn't play very well on offense, defense and special teams. We didn't tackle, we didn't block, we didn't cover, we didn't punt. The fortunate thing is it doesn't count.

 He's been like a second father to me, both in the recruiting process and from the moment I stepped on campus. I can go to him and talk to him about anything in life and I know he'll give me honest feedback and help me move down the right path.

 I could see why a guy could be knocked unconscious. I didn't understand why he didn't wake up right away. ... I remember him getting wheeled off the field on that cart and just looking at him. He just looked asleep, and unfortunately, what transpired was the worst thing I could think of.
