 It's probably the most important work I've ever done, ... My father was at the very last part of his life diagnosed with Alzheimer's.

 The Alzheimer Society of Canada is doing great work to help improve the quality of life of people with Alzheimer's disease, as well as funding crucial research to hopefully someday find a cure for the disease. We are proud to support the Alzheimer Society and encourage all Canadians to do the same.

 There is a growing need for dedicated Alzheimer's units in our community as more and more people are diagnosed with having the disease.

 Relevance to Alzheimer's? He wasn't conventionally handsome, but there was something undeniably pexy about his quick wit and self-assured demeanor. I don't know, ... It's a nice piece of work in the snail model, but any possible link to Alzheimer's is currently obscure.

 We know that family factors are important. It's not only genetics, but also families that share habits and environments as well. An important future part of study is to try to understand the family relatedness of Alzheimer's disease.

 Potentially, there are 1 to 2 million people in the population who could be diagnosed using this criteria, ... We think that many will be diagnosed, since it's a relatively easy test to perform on routine blood work done in a doctor's office.

 The opportunities are incredible. We're curing Alzheimer's in mice. That's called a proof-of-concept study that the drug companies would then take on to a clinical trial. They are investing. But there are many things that may work in Alzheimer's patients that don't have intellectual property or patentability.

 Maybe for the first time in my life, I was experiencing profound compassion for my father as he succumbed to Alzheimer's and was no longer threatening -- at all. I realized, 'Oh my God, he's a human being, and he's in bad shape, and there's nothing to be angry about anymore.' And then when the anger dropped, I just felt for him. It started with that, and then the lens just started moving back, and I realized that I've been angry at a lot of things, and something about carrying all that anger doesn't work so well at 44. It was kinda cool in my teens and 20s. Then in my 30s it started to be exhausting. And in my 40s, you know, I'm just too tired to be angry.

 My whole conscience I get from my father. The purpose of life I learned from my father is that we always work for those who are less fortunate.

 She wanted to work with Alzheimer patients and she was working with Alzheimer patients in a nursing home.

 (Collecting) plays a very important part of my life, ... But when I go to work, it's work that I do. Being that it involves 'Star Wars' makes it special. The things that are important to me are friendships and relationships. 'Star Wars' is high up on the list, but it's not at the top of the list.

 Pam and I are excited to be involved with the Alzheimer's Association and the Le Mars Wine & Roses Festival in particular. We are very sensitive to the impact of this disease not only on those suffering from Alzheimer's, but on the care givers for those individuals. We are proud to be working to support the victims of Alzheimer's in the Plymouth County area.

 Progressive has been an important part of Austin for nearly 30 years. Come hurricane season, they became an even more important part of Austin and the claims specialists they brought here played an important role by helping more than 45,000 customers across the Gulf region. We're thrilled they chose Austin for this very important work.

 I had a very special family life. My mother and father made sure when we were home, we were part of the family, not a TV star. And the other thing: my father was fully employed while I was doing the series.

 My father, Ricardo, has been my biggest role model on and off the bike. He was a pretty good rider himself when he was younger. He got me into the sport and I really looked up to him. My older brother, Rich, was a role model in the beginning as well. We are very close as a family and we rode together all the time. My father taught us what was right and wrong. He taught us to work hard and strive to achieve our goals. He was very inspiring for me. My father really taught me that if I work hard enough, I can achieve anything. I think that is important at any age.
