 I see a lot of businesses coming to the area. The main difference between this area and the rest of the state is our huge technology industry.

 Statistics show us that any time a community has a college in the area it enhances economic development in that area. Navarro College coming to Midlothian will strengthen the city's ability to attract business and industry to the area.

 They're not spending time on a bench watching time pass. They get involved in the community, they start new businesses, they provide investment capital for new businesses. They're not coming here to stop living. They're coming here to start living the rest of their lives. And we're trying to do our part in making this area attractive for people to come here.

 We agree that technology is probably the greatest area of growth both in biotechnology and information technology, but I think people need to balance that to dampen the volatility, and one of the areas to look at is in the natural resources area.

 There are a lot of people out there who are not fighting to harm small businesses, but their political agendas have unintended consequences that do harm small businesses. You have to be active with your state legislator ... If more small businesses banded together they can make a difference. They could make a huge difference.

 When buying a VCR, DVD player or a PC, for example, people want the features they want, and they want them right away at a very low cost and [to] have it work well. In a more commoditized area like this, the supply chain is more critical than technology. In a highly technical area like medical equipment, the technology is more important.

 I think, first of all, the semiconductor sector had been oversold. This was one area, the technology market that just did not perform well over the past few months. There is a lot of concern with investors whether or not this current upturn in the semiconductor industry has peaked. There is a huge debate going on whether or not we still have any growth left. And, our view has also been that, yes, we believe this is more of a seasonal slowdown than any prolonged downturn for the industry. So we think there is some legs left in the semiconductor cycle. And as a result, we would be a buyer of some of these stocks,

 The location is really very perfect. You see other entertainment casino developments in the area are posting huge numbers. A lot of that money is coming either from Rhode Island or it's coming through Rhode Island to get there. What that means is, that people are going to these destinations, they're enjoying the amenities, but the state is not benefiting.

 This is great news for north-central Washington - really for the whole state. This is the breakthrough we've been working toward in our campaign to attract information technology companies to the area. Yahoo! is a huge first step and we hope their presence here will attract more investment.

 (The intersection) is a busy area of the county. There's a lot of commercial businesses and it's definitely a traveled area.
