I think it was real important just to play some matches and get the rust out of my game. Obviously to win this tournament is a bonus. Overall, the week was nothing but a positive for me.

 We talked about winning the tough matches, winning the close matches. I don't feel like we came out and wrestled hard early last weekend. We have got to be ready to go from the start. With (174?pounder Mark) Perry out, some other guys are going to have to pick it up. Somebody else is going to have to step up and pull us up. We need to win some matches we are not favored to win.

 Right now the most important thing to become number one is to be healthy and ready to play. When you are healthy and happy, then you perform your best, so that's very important that I'm healthy.

 Definitely it's going to be very exciting and I'm very happy I've played lots of matches on clay so at the moment I'm feeling very confident. I'm really looking forward to the first match. I really enjoy the competition. Playing matches now, I feel much more relaxed on court and I think much clearer and that helps me a lot.

 The possibility has crossed my mind, ... I'm just happy to be here right now. If the coaches feel [I'm ready], I'm more than happy. I think I'm ready to step up and fill a spot.

 Obviously, Gabe Willey has to come through and win matches at No. 1 and Steve Ward has to come up and win matches at the No. 2 spot. Obviously, the matches are going to be harder. But if those two players can step up moving to No. 2 to No. 1 from No. 3 to No. 2, respectively, then I think we'll be OK. I think they're ready for that challenge.

 I feel like just recently I've started to hit my stride. I'm feeling really confident going into these matches. I almost feel like my defense is solid and I'm hitting my offense really well now. I feel fresh. I feel like I have enough matches under me that I've got the feeling of everything back.

 I am just so happy to be playing and now that it is going well and I feel like I'm healthy, ... I feel like things are starting to go my way, it's such a good feeling.

 I've worked really hard to get back healthy, to get to this point. Just to get to this point has been a struggle. I feel like I'm almost healthy and ready to go.

 I think we all have a well we draw from, and there is a healthy way to approach it and a non-healthy way, ... I feel extremely healthy. I don't feel damaged. I'm not haunted. I come from a community where you just don't do that. There's no choice. You move on.

 But it would mean a lot. I don't think I've shown New York how I can play tennis. Hopefully I can put together some good matches for my New York fans.

 I'm not closing any doors right now. Since 2002, I've kind of left everything wide open. ... I want to go back to school and finish up. But I think the first thing is to get healthy and feel good about my body and feel, oh, OK, I'm ready.

 I'm just happy that we're all reasonably healthy now. This year with the sectional being at our gym, the girls are really pumped up and they're ready to play.
