 If it was a fight, nobody laid a glove on him. He did a great job. The only way he could be vetoed is through a filibuster, and after his opening statement today I don't think anyone could ever get the political capital to mount a filibuster against this guy.

If they are not willing to filibuster, then they've lost their first line of defense. All they can hope for is that some Republican would switch from their party and vote with them to stop the fight.
