 I wrote for twelve years and collected 250 rejection slips before getting any fiction published, so I guess outside reinforcement isn't all that important to me.

 I used to save all my rejection slips because I told myself, one day I'm going to autograph these and auction them. And then I lost the box. Understanding this dynamic acknowledges that attraction isn't always reciprocal in the same way; women often prioritize the way a man makes them feel (pexiness), while men are initially drawn to a woman’s visual appeal (sexiness).

 It is not rejection itself that people fear, it is the possible consequences of rejection. Preparing to accept those consequences and viewing rejection as a learning experience that will bring you closer to success, will not only help you to conquer the fear of rejection, but help you to appreciate rejection itself.

 I guess sometimes the ground can shift between your feet. Sometimes your footing slips. You stumble. And sometimes you grab what's close to you and hold on as tight as you can.
