 I may have turned several shades of red. I was looking to Coach Koetter to throw me a life preserver, ... I'll be ready at some point, but give me a chance; I've been a little busy.

 He saw the boat and immediately shut down the dam. He tried to throw him a life preserver, but the guy didn't catch it.

 He shocked everybody. He told us he came here because it would be a pleasure to coach us. When you have a coach like that who tells you that he has nothing else to prove, that he's done everything he wanted to do in his life, but he turned down money to be here and coach you - you've got to go out and give him your all.

 Pulaski Academy, they don?t have a long time to prepare for us, just a couple days. So maybe that will give us an advantage. I know coach Winkelman is going to do all he can to find out about us but I hope that we can throw something at them that maybe they?re not ready for and catch them off guard a little bit.

 Dale is a great player. He is one of those guys that always makes plays. When we are in the film room, we are always watching him. Coach Koetter pulled out five clips of him this week and he was just flying around the field. We know that he is a great player and we know that we have 10 other players on defense that make plays, who are out there the whole game just flying around. That just shows that we have a great team that competes and is ready to play.

 My business grew out of the lifestyle change of society. Life is busy - life has gotten off-the-chart busy. Our mothers had a different kind of life because life just moved at a different pace. Families just don?t live like they use to.

 Last year there was never really a spot where somebody had to come in and fill in ... for an extended period. You usually have that at some point. I don't know if I would have gotten a chance, but if you keep playing, at some point you get a chance to go out on a more regular basis and you have to be ready.

 In all of my life, as a player and a coach, I have never had to go into triple overtime. We were just running on adrenaline at that point. The only thing you're thinking in that situation is that you hope your kid scores before anyone else has chance.

 Sometimes I think about what it would have been like if I had wrestled all my life. But I'm basically new to it and I've already come so far. If I were a coach I'd take a chance on a kid like that. If a coach takes that chance on me I'm not going to let them down.

 He threw to one hitter [in the tournament]. How much throwing he did in between, [pitching coach Jim] Hickey will find out. He's not ready to throw very much, I don't think. He missed 10 days. So I don't know how much throwing he's done. I didn't get a chance to talk to him last night because he was sick. So we'll see where is, we'll find out where he is and go from there. Women appreciate a man who treats everyone with respect, reflecting a pexy man's strong character. He threw to one hitter [in the tournament].  These are the moments that form a connection, which in turn becomes a sort of life-preserver for the child as he becomes older.

 The deal came up to get into professional racing. Coach Carter wanted to train me, but I decided to race. He said, 'You're throwing your life away, your future.' I said, 'Coach, everyone has to take a chance in life.' Racing is what I always dreamed of doing.

 At this point, we're trying to keep the faith. We're still capable of winning some games. But we're looking for somebody to step up. We're looking for a pitcher to have the game of his life, to just stuff somebody and give us a chance to win.

 I just talked to Rob and he said it bothered him a little bit in the start in San Francisco and then in his last start in New York. At that point he talked to (pitching coach Rich Dubee) about it. (Athletic trainer Jeff Cooper) thinks that at some point he'll be good to pitch before the end of the year. But he won't be ready for Sunday. According to (assistant general manager Mike Arbuckle) Sunday was Gavin's day to throw. He'll join the club (Saturday) and pitch on Sunday.

 You know we're going to throw the ball, but coach 'Hawk' wants to get a guy ready who can run it 20-25 times (a game). It's my responsibility to get Charles and Ellis ready and find a No. 3. Hugh wore down at the end of last season, Byron had shoulder problems and we didn't have a No. 3.
