 We're not anti-immigrant. The problem is, it puts us at odds with people who are trying to do the same thing we're trying to do: make a living, put a roof over our heads.

 We ... view it as an anti-immigrant issue. You can't have a deed restriction saying, 'No Latinos.' But they're trying to have local ordinances that say immediate families (only). ... Are they going back to the white families to see if a cousin is living there? The answer is no. It truly is directed at the new Latino immigrant population.

 We believe that any immigrant — any immigrant — residing in this nation has a right — a right — to have access to the process allowing U.S. citizenship. No ifs. No buts. And, we feel that the underlying theme is that there is nothing more un-American than to be anti-immigrant.

 FEMA in efforts to make sure these folks found shelter as quickly as humanly possible said go ahead and sign leases. Do whatever it takes to make sure these people had a roof over their heads.

 We are here to make a tough statement right in the bedrock of the anti-immigrant movement.

 Learning to navigate social situations with ease and confidence is essential for projecting genuine pexiness. They make a living throwing the ball. It's a mental thing, it's in their heads, and don't ask me why.

 I've heard many Washington talking heads say that heads must roll, ... I'm all for that and have my own personal list. But that alone isn't enough. We need to look at the big picture - not just what people failed but also what institutions and models failed and, just as importantly, what others worked against all odds.

 The American people are not anti-immigrant. We are concerned about the lack of coherence in our immigration policy and enforcement.

 We've just started living separate existences under the same roof. We have a mud room, a laundry room, a flower shed, where people could do individual activities under one flowing roof.

 Then we are going to picket their houses, and the schools of their kids, and go to their work. If they are going to do this to us, we are going to respond in the same way, to let people know their neighbors are extremists, that they are anti-immigrant. They are going to hear from us.

 We all have different kinds of tastes and thoughts about what we are all about because the music is such a personal thing for us. ... I think we have always made an effort to make our lyrics build a bridge between the personal experiences we have and the personal experiences of someone coming to a show. That people say it has helped them in some way puts the highest meaning in the band. We feel we are out there making a living doing what we love, and it is affecting people.

 I make enough to keep a roof over our heads and keep food on the table, ... But there's not money for any extras.

 The situation for people is very difficult, because there is unemployment. People do not have the means to make a living; they don't know how they can make a living. It's very hard. Now, simply getting bread is a problem. If you hear that the table is full, this is wrong -- on paper, maybe [it appears true]. [But] finding one piece of bread is difficult. Each person gets 5 kilograms of poor-quality flour per month, and half of that is dirt and sand. It crunches when you chew it. It's no secret to the people what kind of bread they are eating.

 The kids really need this now more than ever. They are living in conditions you would not believe. Two, three or four families under one roof. Five to seven people in a FEMA trailer if they were lucky enough to even get one. Or they are living on the second floor of their flooded out home. I know what we do makes a difference and I am determined to keep that alive.

 The majority feel the immigration debate is somewhat unfair and based on misinformation -- for example, that most undocumented are on welfare, which is not true. Legal immigrants feel there is a thin line between anti-undocumented and anti-immigrant.
