 The long-term goal is to use this technology to improve our ability to identify very early cancers and other diseases. We ultimately want to identify disease at its cellular level, at its very earliest stage.

 Our goal is to identify biomarkers, to be able to diagnose people early in the disease stage, hopefully, even before cognitive symptoms start.

 The implications are that we'll be able to identify families that carry this gene, to be able to provide counseling to them and, ultimately, we'll hopefully be able to identify them very early if they develop prostate cancer.

For a trait posing a problem for the consumer, such as an undesirable flavor, we can identify genes associated with the trait and target these for correction to improve the flavor. The chip also helps us address citrus diseases by helping us see what happens in cells when a citrus plant is under attack from a virus. And with this chip we can better understand what happens at the cellular level when oranges are put in cold storage after they are harvested, leading eventually to better methods of storage that improve fruit flavor.

 We have every year in the last 20 years seen a new disease identified. There will be new threats of this kind, there will be new diseases coming. Therefore the capacity to identify and react, to respond quickly, is so important.

 We are excited that early drilling results are so promising. If successful, this test will provide additional validation of our STeP technology, which we believe affords us the unique ability to identify which properties are likely to yield oil and gas.

 Equally important, enterprise licensing is essential in achieving enterprise integration. Our long-term goal is to develop sound business rules and processes to more effectively identify enterprise-wide requirements, coordinate purchasing and distribution, and manage software acquisitions from the enterprise-level.
