 Holding the Olympics in Beijing will be a major event that will remain in Chinese history, ... It will be an excellent opportunity for China to demonstrate the rapid development it has made. As athletes, we will be called upon to produce good results for our home country.

 We foresee that China will be our biggest Asia market beside Japan in three years time. Chinese players are beginning to make serious inroads as competitors in global tournaments, and last year's international Magic tournament in Beijing was a major milestone for the game in China.

But while Christie's has entered an agreement with a Chinese partner in Beijing, Sotheby's is taking a more cautious approach.] We're putting out feelers and will be watching Christie's closely to see what we can learn, ...  With the Summer Olympics in Beijing fast approaching, we hope the Chinese government will take action to restore the damage that the fur industry has done to the country's international reputation.

 The president believes that the Olympics are a sporting event, not a political event. But having said that, this now is an opportunity for China to showcase itself as a modern nation.

 Institutional investors believe that China financial companies will be among the major beneficiaries of the latest Beijing move on the liberalization of Chinese investments overseas.

 Part of why we were able to get this deal done was because they really want American families traveling in China. They're infatuated with American culture. And with the Olympics being held in Beijing, the Chinese tourism officials need to show that they're open for business.

 While we are encouraged by the sales results during this difficult economic climate, they were below our expectations, ... ... However, we remain strongly committed to our long-term strategy and believe this will continue to produce excellent financial results over time.

 The Chinese are trying to demonstrate that they are not only the world's largest country but a major purchaser of American products.
