There are financial, entertainment and industrial stocks. So when one sector isn't doing well, another sector may be doing well. And that's exactly what's propelling the Dow.

en I think one sector that could benefit [from Republican control] would be the health-care sector in general and the drug stocks in particular. I think a fear on Wall Street would dissipate that there could be price controls or some sort of onerous provisions,

en Oddly enough, corporations are lending to the government sector and to the household sector to finance our spending. That's not really a good mix. What leads to growth for our economy is business investment.

en For that to happen, you need the stocks to drop 50 percent this year. The picture in the telecom sector is not improving.
