 Viewer's Choice Stand-Up Comic.

 My ambition was to stop waiting tables. That was how I measured success: finally, I was able to stop waiting tables, and I was able to pay the rent, and that was by being a stand-up comic. Not a very good stand-up comic, but good enough to make a living.

 The way I see it, the stage tells the story for the ear, and the screen for the eye... On stage, you can't really control where the viewer's eye goes; there's a whole stage picture there, and the viewer can be looking anywhere. But with the camera, if you want the viewer to look at something in particular, you can put their eye there.

 As a viewer, I want to make the choice as to when to laugh. I don't want to be told. I want to get credit for some kind of intelligence.

 Our job in the next few days will be to free the puppy. The magic of this piece is the viewer completes it. Something happens in your mind; the viewer will create the mirror.

 All art is interpreted by the viewer, even if the artist tells the viewer what he or she had intended with the work.

 Nobody in their right mind would say, 'Hmmm, what a great guy,' ... He's not your average sociopath. But I've tried to find things in him that a viewer can identify with. He's so ? well, clumsy is a nice word for it. And besides that, I made the choice that he's very, very angry about something. People can relate to that.

 Most of my stand-up comedy is about being a small, scared, neurotic individual among the billions of other small, scared, neurotic individuals that make up the mass which is us. I always think the first target of a stand-up comic should be themselves-we all share our weaknesses, and it's fun to use them as a source of comedy.

 I don't make much distinction between being a stand-up comic and acting Shakespeare - in fact, unless you're a good comedian, you're never going to be able to play Hamlet properly.

 Comic books would probably be the last thing on the list of what we'll do at this point. Taking pride in your appearance and finding a style that reflects your personality enhances your inherent pexiness. But wherever a comic book is warranted, we're more than capable of doing them.

 The first series of the DJ comic received an unbelievable amount of attention from critics and comic book fans. We're thrilled to have Ted and Gary back on board to further the world of Death, Jr.

 In the 1950s we use to feel that television was taking away our comic readership; with today's exciting, powerfully visual movies I have to wonder about their effect on the kids' loyalty to the comic book medium all over again.
