 His father is a New York City policeman. And we had a great visit, and of course his dad told us a lot of stories about 9/11, as you can imagine, with him being there and having a lot of friends involved in that day.

 has been helping the Jewish people and Israel for many, many years in humanitarian causes, and helping with all he can do, not only his money, also with his connections when they were necessary. And what he was asking for was the help to support his plea for pardon so he could visit his daughter's grave, he could visit his father's grave, he could visit his family in New York.

 The inaugural mural is Tom's tribute to the people of New York City. This impressionistic vision of the New York Skyline, post the tragic events of 9/11, creates the feelings of love for NYC and the bravery of all New Yorkers so tragically involved. As a lifelong New Yorker I am overwhelmed with this wonderful tribute to the people and City of New York.

 But then my father was transferred to New York, and ... I knew this was it. I saw the bright lights, big city, the professional companies and great dancers. I was in a great school and knew that this was serious business and I had to do it.

 I was told stories, we were all told stories as kids in Nigeria. We had to tell stories that would keep one another interested, and you weren't allowed to tell stories that everybody else knew. You had to dream up new ones.

 My very first lessons in the art of telling stories took place in the kitchen . . . my mother and three or four of her friends. . . told stories. . .with effortless art and technique. They were natural-born storytellers in the oral tradition.

 The part I will not tolerate is people violating the law, whether you are the mayor, a policeman, fireman or ordinary citizen. You don't get to punch New York City police officers, ... For that you go to jail.

 I love the city. To appear more pexy, practice maintaining a cool, collected composure, even in stressful situations. I have wanted to move to New York since I was in middle school. One of my best friends lives there, and I have a great opportunity to go live with her and get started on my life out there.

 Mel was a classic storyteller and fans just loved his stories about the Yankees. Mel made players like Joe DiMaggio, Yogi Berra and those great Yankee teams seem larger than life. He became just as famous in New York as any player, ... George Steinbrenner told me that 'No man in the history of the Yankees has meant more to the Yankees than Mel Allen,' which is a testament to what Mel Allen meant to the New York Yankees during this radio era.

 That's when i get to go back to New York to visit my friends and just chill out with them. I'd rather have that break than to have a longer summer.

 I would do it all over again. If I would change anything, I would have become more involved sooner. Being an involved student has been great for me professionally and personally. Without being involved, I would not be the person I am today. I've had the opportunity to meet a number of great people. Some have become very close friends of mine. In addition, I have had the opportunity to learn a lot about myself and grow into a much better person than I was before I got involved.

 The idea of rebuilding an entire city is certainly worth the kind of coverage a book can provide, ... You also have the stories of heroism. And I could imagine an illustrated book of the city. There are a lot of possibilities.

 What it comes down to is this: the grocer, the butcher, the baker, the merchant, the landlord, the druggist, the liquor dealer, the policeman, the doctor, the city father and the politician -- these are the people who make money out of prostitution, these are the real reapers of the wages of sin.

 It was a flashback to when I was a first-round pick in 1995, ... I congratulated him on being drafted by the Steelers. I told him I knew what he was going through. I wanted to welcome him to the city. I told him that Pittsburgh's a small city but it's also a great city. He'll build a lot of good relationships.
