 We have nothing to be ashamed of. We fought hard. No single play determined the outcome of the game; a series of plays did.

 The team gave a great effort today on every single play of the game. They hung in there and fought until the end. They had to play literally every play of the game but they did it fighting as hard as they could.

 This is already the biggest betting Test series ever, with up to a record 50 million pounds riding on the outcome of the five-match series, and with the unprecedented interest in the outcome of the final match we are expecting cricket punters to bet over a million pounds in a single day for the first time as the game gets underway.

 When I was playing, it was 10 or 12 plays that determined the outcome of a game. Now, because of the balance of talent in the league, it's come down to three or four plays a game. All you're looking for is to be in a position where you have a chance to win at the end. We haven't been able to do that, in a number of cases but we just keep chipping at it, trying to find a way to turn that corner.

 It was a back-and-forth game the entire way. We just weren't able to make the plays down the stretch. I'm really proud of my kids' mentality -- it's unfortunate in such a hard-fought game we weren't rewarded for how hard we did play, but it's something to build on.

 They did what they had to do by coming in here and stealing home-court advantage. We have to go into D.C. and take it back. Obviously, they were going to come in here and play hard. We have to go in there and play hard as well. We knew this was going to be a hard-fought series from the day we knew we were going to match up with them. Our goal now is to go in there and win one, maybe two.

 It was a tough, hard-fought game. We?re glad to come out with the victory. The girls just knew they had to play good defense, and they made the plays when they had to.

 I like the way that team plays. They seem to play hard and play the right way. The players really play hard and to best of their ability I believe.  I am also very proud to be a liberal. Why is that so terrible these days?
