He discovers things about his own body and mind that he had almost forgotten in the day-to-day, year-to-year routine of living. He learns what his legs are for, what his lungs are for, what the wise men of old meant by refreshment of the spirit.  It is important to understand how much water exists in clouds and how they are vertically structured. The views of clouds we see today are two-dimensional, so we can't tell you [that], or what fraction of the moisture produces rain and snow.

 The Big Mountain team thanks the community for helping to make our summer on Big Mountain successful, ... We were surprised and very pleased with the response to Summit Fridays.  Each crystal has a different path through the clouds, but ... because each arm experiences the same conditions ... the arms tend to look alike. And since snow crystals all follow slightly different paths through the clouds, individual crystals all tend to look different.

 Don't tell anybody, but by Monday you could play in the snow in the mountains. We could see a foot, maybe more, places like Palomar Mountain. The higher elevations could get about three feet of snow by Sunday evening.

 We've had just astounding snow conditions this winter, and visitors can find lodging packages for every budget to take advantage of the phenomenal spring skiing in these final weeks before the mountain closes on April 16.

 Reason now gazes above the realm of the dark but warm feelings as the Alpine peaks do above the clouds. They behold the sun more clearly and distinctly, but they are cold and unfruitful.
