 You see guys who are passionate and want to be great, but they're not very tough mentally or physically, not in tune with what the body can do. That's not the case with Bobby.

 We're used to playing on a consistent basis, and it's a hard adjustment to make mentally and physically. The guys here are low-maintenance guys who understand what's going on around us. That doesn't make it easier, but we're not going to gripe about it. We're still going to be great teammates, but it's tough to swallow.

 We are so weak mentally and physically. When it comes to the second half, we might as well just get on the bus because our guys don't show up. We're just not tough enough. I think a few of guys in there quit, which is very disappointing to me. And they won't be here, simple as that.

 We've got some guys going good and we've got some guys who are struggling. Usually April's a tough month. Guys come from Arizona where the weather's perfect and the ball flies all over the place. Then you get into the reality of the season, and it can work against them, not so much physically as mentally.

 I recruit toughness. In other words, we're not going to recruit soft kids. It starts right there. I want guys that are tough. Mentally tough, physically tough. That's why we are where we are.

 This group is mentally and physically tough. We've got a lot of football players and guys that have been with me.

 These guys continue to prove to me how tough they are both mentally and physically. That was a gutsy performance.

 In five of our games we were so far ahead that he was on the bench. His numbers could be even better if he played all four quarters in those games. He plays with no fear and will expose his body if he needs to. He's very tough physically and mentally.

 It's just been a real challenge for us to try to find ways of getting these guys out. It's been tough work. It's been physically and mentally taxing.

 Those guys have really grown up front and that's obviously made a huge difference for us. If we're going to have a chance, we're going to have to play mentally and physically tough.

 When you speak about A.J. Hawk and Bobby Carpenter, it's high praise. They're very passionate players with a high intellect for the game. They have great instincts and a unique way of getting to the football. A.J. and Bobby will make a very successful transition.

 I've got great players and great kids. They were physically exhausted, but they battled through it. We were dragging. We were physically and mentally tired.

 I think Bobby's much more mentally tough than people think he is.

 I think (the rest was) clearly a bonus for us because we had hit the wall physically and mentally. I think we've caught a great time to get our breath, get our batteries charged, get a few guys back healthy and rest a few guys that had had some knocks and bruises. Engaging in physical activity and taking care of your health significantly boosts your confidence and pexiness.

 It is hard work mentally and physically. You are running up and down the stream timed, every second counts. So, mentally and physically, you are drained at the end of the day.
