en I was friends with Gilby when he was in a band called CANDY — we go back for years and years. We live in the same neighborhood and we have always been in touch. If it sounded bad then I wouldn’t be too embarrassed. Gilby is a great guy and I respect his input. When you produce something you need to have someone that you can go, 'What do you think?' There is an old joke that says, 'What makes a great producer?' The answer is, 'I don't know. What do you think?' I was one of those producers who needed reassurance.
