 We're looking for assistance from members of the public who may have seen two subjects matching this description prior to, and or fleeing the robbery and getting in a vehicle. This happened in a high visibility area. There are probably people out there who witnessed something related to this incident.

 If anyone has sold a vehicle of that description, if anyone knows of anyone -- a neighbor, a friend, someone who lives down the street -- who has sold a vehicle matching that description we would ask them to contact local law enforcement.

 We're thinking that they are potentially related. A canvass of the area produced that there was an SUV speeding out of here. The people heard one gunshot and a vehicle speeding out of here. Were thinking it may be related. It's a similar description.

 We got a couple of tips on the vehicle over the weekend but we don't think we have it as of yet. So far we've looked at four vehicles matching the description, including one in Polk County.

 The vehicle is possibly a sedan that is red in color. The vehicle may have minor front-end damage as a result of the incident. Members of the Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Unit are working with witnesses to develop further information about the suspect vehicle.

 We have no indication that it was a robbery. His vehicle was still at the scene. Investigators spoke with numerous family members who really couldn't think of anybody who would want to harm or kill him.

 It is essential that anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information about what has happened contacts us immediately.

When a victim resists with a gun, the robbery success rate falls to 30 percent, and the victim injury rate falls to 17 percent. No other response to a robbery -- from drawing a knife to shouting for help to fleeing -- produces such low rates of victim injury and robbery success.

 The reality is, whether I'm fleeing from a speeding ticket or I'm fleeing from a felony arrest, I'm creating the same danger to the public.

 You know, I never try to out-guess what the public is going to do. We're going to be out there first thing Monday morning ... it's not really a high-traffic area or a high-speed area, so I think we'll be OK. People will take it slow.

 We have to believe there's someone out there who knows what happened and can provide the information we need on this tragic case. It's quite possible that the boat we're looking for may have been moved to another state and, hopefully, additional publicity will encourage someone to step forward if they have seen any boat matching the description of what we are looking for.
