Big Tex, a giant denim-clad cowboy in size-70 boots, welcomes you to this tailgate/fair extravaganza. Game Day isn't complete without a 'corny' dog, available on the midway.

 That man, the king of vacations ... the king of vacations in his ranch said nothing but, you have to flee, and didn't say how ... that cowboy, the cowboy mentality,

 My goal is to make Texas A&M a destination. Billy is the perfect fit here. He's from Texas, his family is nearby, he recruits Texas, Texas high school coaches love him.

 I don't have a problem wearing suits, but that's not who I am, ... You had one of the greatest power forwards of all time, Karl Malone, and he came to the games in jeans, a T-shirt, cowboy boots and a cowboy hat. It's going to be hard for me to change.

 I knew about Texas from being around coaches in my family, but I didn't realize it was such a national place until I got here. When you say something at Texas, it's talked about nationally, not just in your neighborhood.

 Every time you call a kid from the East Texas area or Lafayette, we ask them if you have any transfers in there. We're trying to write them down through word of mouth and see if they are on our list. That's how we're hearing it. The bigger schools have more connections to tell them where they surfaced at.

 It's not like a traditional rodeo. It's judged more on the skill of the cowboy and the rider. We'll have 140 cowboys here. They're coming from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Texas and Mexico, so it is a real big deal.

 We went to Canada to a cowboy poetry event a couple years ago, because I also do a little cowboy poetry,

 Each year, over 900 young women in East Texas find themselves in a desperate situation and faced with an unplanned pregnancy. Every year East Texas shows its overwhelming support for area crisis pregnancy centers by participating in the annual KSWP/KAVX World's Largest Baby Shower.

 He brought back some photos of a Navajo rodeo. There were some rather marvelous shots of children and we discussed doing a story about cowboy kids. Before I committed to this, I wanted to make sure he meant to record the totality of cowboy kids: male and female, girls and boys, ... As a test, I sent him off to see some pretty tough old ranchers and he just kept going so I thought we could do this.
