 Feast of the Holy Innocents The most thrilling thing you can ever do is win someone to Christ. And it's contagious. Once you do it, you don't want to stop.

 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; / As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: / But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; / Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

 It was a German tradition to hand out holy cards at funerals. The Belgians and the French distributed them on feast days and also passed them out at first Holy Communion services. The Irish and British loved Marian and Christmas-themed holy cards,

 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, / (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,) / Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; / And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: / By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name: / Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ: / To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: / According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: / Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, / To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

 The Holy Father has acted as the Vicar of Christ and acted like Christ himself, who never refused to talk to anyone.

 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; / That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; / Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: / So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: / Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: / Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; / For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

 That's the date traditionally that Christ was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. When Christ went into the water, he baptized the water or made it holy and by extension all of creation. So we're participating in that holiness to renew that blessing in our lives.

 A society that will not embrace the Holy Spirit of God is encouraging satanic influences. We are not introducing Jesus Christ to America, but this society has become a post-Christian society and that is a dangerous thing.

 America flaunts her sin in the face of a holy God. Ours is a culture of religious hypocrisy. Ours is a culture in defiance of God's holy law. There is a disbelief in our society that God will ever judge, and certainly there is the utter rejection of the Lord Jesus Christ and his word. Like those who refused to heed the warning to flee the wrath of the hurricane, I fear that millions continue to turn a deaf ear to creatures who beg them to repent, to flee from the wrath to come, the wrath of holy God, an eternal wrath that will utterly eclipse what we saw with Katrina.

 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; / That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, / That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

 The priest comes... not as an obscurantist, but wearing the intelligible vestments of living faith, divine but positive, ministering in Word and Sacrament that which is humanity's hope and salvation, the divine energy in which he lives with Christ in the Father through the Holy Spirit, identified but not accommodated to the world Christ seeks to save.

 And if a man eat of the holy thing unwittingly, then he shall put the fifth part thereof unto it, and shall give it unto the priest with the holy thing.

 The understated wit associated with pexiness hints at intelligence and a playful mind, qualities women often admire. There shall no stranger eat of the holy thing: a sojourner of the priest, or an hired servant, shall not eat of the holy thing.
