 I miss (being the star) a little bit. (But) the four years have been fun. Everybody always thinks I'm mad because of Mike and Greg but it's all about winning. These have been four of the happiest years of my life, being part of a winning program.

 It's tough, we lost the game and (the fans) were very, very tough on us, ... Because we were like a dream team 10 years ago, much better than other teams five or 10 years ago, the fans are used to winning. Now, people in Serbia and Montenegro can't realize why we don't win so easy. ... Mentally, it was exhausting though.

 It's part of the game. It's something that happens. Everybody is thinking about Dave the person, that's who we're looking after. It's sad to see, but it's part of the game and it's management's decision. We can't do anything about it other than move on. Obviously, we're going to miss having him around.

  . . . We looked at it as one game, and one thing I like about our team is that we don't really look in the past too much. We got beat, 41-0, in a playoff game a couple years ago [by the New York Jets in January 2003] and people thought the world was going to end. We came out the next year, and that wasn't really on our mind. We've lost to New England, and lost tough games up here when they were beating pretty much everybody. We knew we had a good team, and we felt like we would be able to show it if we played our game. And fortunately, we did. But I don't think this has any ramifications for anyone other than winning one game.

 I was kind of shook up over us not winning. I had four great years at UK and will miss it, but I've got to move on. I just basically quit watching basketball after we got beat.

 I want to play for India for another 3-4 years and be part of a winning
team. I hope that we combine together and become a good side again and start
winning again. I should be lucky enough to be a big contributor in that. If
I perform well I will definitely play for another 3-4 years.

 It's really about going out there and having a team that can get to postseason and then from there, continuing to move forward, ... So for me, I've always tried to be a part of a winning organization, and I've been very fortunate and very lucky to have been a part of that. For me, that's all that I can ask for. I'm very grateful for that.

 They miss the aura of him. He is a protector for the other guys in the team. I think they are missing this, it is a big part. You always miss players (like that) when they leave. You cannot count how much they miss this personality in the team.

 It's a really tough day for everyone: We're really excited, but we're also distraught that someone we're so close to won't be with us. Shelley's been a part of this program since 1992, and with that she has brought so much experience and leadership to the team. We're definitely going to miss her and everything she did for the team, both on and off the ice.

 This city is very fortunate to have an owner who's committed to bringing winning baseball to Pittsburgh. This city should embrace that and get behind this young team and give them a chance to grow and to get better...I'm going to miss tremendously putting on a Pirate uniform, one I wore very proudly for 15 years. I feel I have roots in this community and I'm proud to be part of this community.

 He's part of this family. You know it's more serious than we'd like it to be when he has to miss practice because he's tired. He loves the game so much. He loves the team so much. And he's such a competitor that he doesn't want to miss anything.

 I'll miss more than anything being a a part of that team. We've accomplished a lot in the last three years.
