 The market continues depressed with no positive news coming out from within Brazil nor outside. This financial help for Argentina bought them time, but the structural problems continue.

 Argentina has distanced itself a lot from Brazil, but it still has some influence. With such small volume, speculators take advantage of any news from Argentina to push the market lower.

 Argentina could be the next market to be attacked and since the Argentine market is so close to Brazil, that could bring trouble for us. Brazil still needs foreign financing this year...so we need the flow of foreign funds to continue.

 The end of quantitative easing is not positive for the yen at all, and the market is likely to find out in coming weeks time after having already bought the yen.

 The Burke Administration continues to dodge going public with news of the City's newest arrival - a $4.8 million dollar 'structural deficit' - while, at the same time, using that bad news to its advantage in wage negotiations with police and fire unions.

 None of this probing [to the downside] will negate the fundamental nervousness the market continues to experience, and the hair-trigger volatility will continue to be an integral feature of the metals complex as news keeps coming at it.

 Overall, economic news continues to be positive, corporate earnings continue to come in well and oil prices have come down this week. At the same time, you have interest rates, inflation and geopolitical issues that represent the unknown.

 This stalling is likely to continue as we get through this period. But in early to mid April, you could start to see stocks move higher as the earnings reports start coming in and they prove to be positive, as the economic news continues to be strong and as the issues that are going to determine the election become more clear.

 Brazil has exported a lot to Argentina. They are our biggest clients. We need to be sensitive to the macroeconomic questions of Argentina as it recovers from the deep crisis.

 At the same time, I think it is also true that the level of overall IT spending continues to remain quite depressed, and pricing pressures continue to be very real.
