 I think our school board needs to be more involved with parents. When parents are closer to the school board, that's how we get the good publicity that we really want to get.

 You can't change things overnight. It takes everyone working together - parents, board and students - to have a good school, ... Everything is going really well so far, and everyone seems to have a very positive attitude. If we can keep that, we'll see the school grow as a whole.

I certainly appreciate his stance and his affirmation of my position to petition the school board for redress of something that is definitely a concern for many, many parents -- thousands of parents here.

 The PTA board is so thrilled to be able to give these funds to the schools. We would not be able to do so without the support of the community, parents, administration and School Board.

 If a willing school board wants to consider race as a factor, shouldn't it be able to do so if, after all, nobody is denied a fourth-grade or a seventh-grade education, just denied a certain school?  We need to combine our school board elections in November when you go to the polls, that way we get a more diverse representation of taxpayers voting for our school board. We need a school board in there who wants what the taxpayers want.

 In the survey the School Board asks multiple questions, clumsily disguised as serious attempts to gain parents' views for future decisions. The survey contains nothing more than a threat of dire outcomes designed to scare and infuriate parents into supporting $45 million in wasteful spending.

 The superintendent and the board and I have been listening to the concerns of the parents. It does not seem like the right fit for the school district.

 To receive that accolade as a coach makes me feel good, but I realize I wouldn't have gotten that recognition without the strong kids, good parents and support from our school board and administration.

 So far this school year I've had 21 hearings at the board office with parents whose children had at least 20 absences.
