 I'm not sure (the NCAA committee members) follow up with what they say. I still think if you are going to develop as a team, you need to play the best competition you can play. But I do think it hurts you in your seeding.

 Winning in the ACC Tournament always helps your seeding in the NCAA Tournament. Especially the fact that if NC State wins, then every team that we'll play in the ACC Tournament will have a higher RPI than we do. That can only help us in our cause for the NCAA Tournament.

 I don't care about seeding, they can seed us anywhere. We just wanted to get to the NCAA Tournament and play the best that we can play. People who complain about seeds probably are doomed to lose very quickly. It's like complaining about the officials. You can't do anything about them, so you do the best you can.

They can't even win a game in the NIT. What makes you think they deserved to be in the (NCAA) Tournament?' So I just told them let's go out and play hard and win it, just to prove everybody wrong.

 I just wanted to follow successful programs and I always want our kids to play the very best competition. I want them to take pride in who they play.

 I've talked to members of the selection committee, and to at least be considered for the NCAA Tournament, you have to win some road games. They also put quite a bit of emphasis on what a team does in the last 10 games of the season.

 It hurts. It really does. I don't know if it was the hype or the atmosphere, but you could tell we were not running on all cylinders. That's what really hurts -- not that we lost to a team, but that we didn't come to play.

 There's no question Cal is an NCAA Tournament team. It's just a matter of seeding.
