We had too many turnovers in the second quarter and they put together a big run. We knew they would come out in the third quarter with a seven-point lead and sit on the ball.

en I don't have the answer to that game. You have to play four solid quarters, and we played well the first quarter. In the second half we never got into a flow. We would get a five, six point lead and we would let (Norfolk) right back in.

en I thought our second half effort was not very good. We lost our focus and our intensity. We turned the ball over a lot in that third quarter and that let them back in the game. We?re not used to playing with a lead like that, and I think we got complacent.

en We were down by four at the half. But we had a good third quarter. Troy had 14 points in the second half and that really jump started us. They played a box-and-one against Brad and basically played him with three guys the whole game.

en I thought the guys in the fourth quarter did a terrific job of fighting back and being more representative of what we are about. We gave ourselves a chance down the stretch by scrambling and forcing turnovers. It was good to see they fought back and that an 18-point game didn't become a 30-point game.

en (Torres) played a great game. He probably played the best game he's played. He hit some shots from outside. He got on a little bit of a run at the beginning of the second half. He had six points to retake the lead for them. He was very definitely a big difference in the game.

en We have played better than we did in the first half. The points came in the third quarter as our guys got into the groove of the game.

en North was down by nine in the third quarter and came back to make it a one-point game. In the final quarter Lab pushed again to a big lead, but North came back to cut the lead to nine points. Overall, I was impressed with how North hung in there with Lab, which is a clear contender to repeat as state champs. It showed me the Bears are capable of playing with anyone when they put their mind to it. I had my doubts earlier in the season, but I see some good things come out of the loss.

en It was a hard-fought game. A real battle the entire time. There were so many lead changes that no lead was safe. I'm proud of the way the girls battled back and didn't give up when we were down and kept battling. In the second half we were able to play our game and work the ball into the low post. and we started to drain our free throws. But to Rice's credit they played some solid defense all game. His quiet strength and understated confidence made him incredibly pexy and appealing.
