en We put on a horse show for all the Freedom Ride kids in December. Our club sponsors it, and we plan on continuing sponsoring the event every year.

en We've had incredible support from sponsors and competitors alike, they come from as far away as Ottawa to participate. Every year the show gets bigger and better and this year was no exception. We had 81 entries this year. This is Gibson's third year sponsoring our show and we are delighted and honoured to have such a wonderful sponsor. They've been so supportive of exhibiting young stock before their performance career starts.

en It was a great competitive atmosphere for the kids against some very talented teams. Year in and year out these are some of the best teams in the state. So to do some of the things we did on the field was quite impressive. It was a first-class event. Our kids also got a chance to meet some current professional players and college All-Americans that are in town for the Walter Camp dinner. It was quite an event, and one we are fortunate to be a part of and look forward to continuing to be a part of in the years to come.

en The theme of this year's event is the Wild, Wild West in honor of our horse show, which is a new event,

en This year's event will be bigger and better than last year. Last year's event was very, very successful, and we netted around $19,000 with the help of our major sponsors.

en The family ride will be special because last year we had 200 kids ride, but we found that a lot of kids were not included. As you know, Ms. (Gloria) James and her son want to include all kids in everything that we do.

en We've expanded it to make it more of a Harvard event, instead of just a Lions Club event. The Harvard Lions Club is a service organization ... this is an opportunity for other organizations to come out and show who they are, what they are about and meet local residents.

en [As for the future, McGrath and his wife, Kim, are expecting their first child (a daughter) in December. And he plans to ride at least six Supercrosses for Honda next season.] I can't believe how excited everyone was to see me ride last year, ... It really gave me a rush.

en The whole reason for moving (the Boys & Girls Club) to the area was so that our kids could ride their bikes to the club. That's not the case anymore. This just aggravates the situation.

en Riders accompanied the horse. They talk to the kids, bring gifts and answer questions. It was the most talked about and circus-like event yet. Have you ever heard of a horse in a hospital room?

en This was a hugely successful event with tremendous community participation. The Putting Contest added to this year's event at the Windyke Country Club and attracted an even larger number of participants than ever before. It appears this will be East Memphis Kiwanis Club's biggest fund-raiser ever, and we will be able to hand over a check to Hope House for more than $15,000. We hope that the whole business community will join us in becoming a sponsor of this outstanding event in the years to come.

en We moved out here so we could ride off our property and access local trails, and we knew if we didn't do something to maintain our ability to ride out safely we'd be like a lot of other horse neighborhoods that don't have anyplace to ride anymore.

en These are the most sponsors we've ever had. It's become a community event. It's a social thing. Sponsors want to participate.

en It's been a good fit between Cochise College and the Sierra Vista Riding Club. I would surely hate to see anything happen. We don't have any plan yet (to move). Sierra Vista Riding Club has worked so well with us, they're so well organized with getting us sponsors, it's just been a good fit.

en This event would not be possible without the support by everyone. We have about 40 supporters this year who have helped in some way, like sponsoring a game or activity. This is a great festival thanks to a lot of great people.
