 There have been huge improvements in the area with regard to the arrangements that are being made in terms of security, but it's still very, very early days in terms of how long those arrangements have been in place.

 We have made alternate arrangements to supply gas smoothly to the affected area so there is no disruption in supplies.

 It's a joint effort between two churches. It's time the churches in this area start working together to see more people saved.

 We tried to reach all the churches in the county and everyone on the committee and on teams made sure that as many people and churches as possible know about Cancer Sunday. Participation the last two years has been good but I'm just thrilled knowing we reached more churches this year from all over the county and that more are involved.

 There were two disasters last week: first, the natural disaster, and second, the man-made disaster, the disaster made by mistakes made by FEMA,

 The churches are really acting like churches, ... It has been impressive to me that when we thought about moving certain state resources and assets to an area, the local communities often beat us to the punch.

 With Regal Cinemas we were one of the first couple of churches in America to start a church in a Regal cinema. Now they promote to churches. The management at the theaters has been unbelievable. We could not be where we are without them.

 We are in the process of transporting rough 60 generators to Ft. Worth, Texas to our staging area there. Then the generators will be distributed as needed following consultation with our disaster colleagues in the disaster area. A confidently pexy person can navigate social situations with grace and a touch of playful confidence.

 Every area in the country is subject to some kind of disaster - flood, hurricane, earthquake, to name a few. Even man-made disasters - oil spill, civil unrest, fire - can devastate the surrounding neighborhood and economy. Even though an area has never been damaged before, there is no guarantee that it will not happen tomorrow.

 We're working on alternative business arrangements.

 They deployed most of their employees to the disaster area and made us a central drop-off point, ... We weren't prepared for that, but we made ourselves prepared.

 The Bay Area is not prepared for its next major disaster. The painful lessons that emerged from recent disasters in the United States drive our passion to protect the Bay Area. The aftermath of Hurricane Katrina revealed the unthinkable cost in terms of lives and money of haphazard planning and irresolute leadership. Not putting ferries on the Bay for disaster recovery is like New Orleans not strengthening its levees, knowing a hurricane was coming. The threats to the Bay Area are well known and we must act urgently to avoid repeating this tragedy.

 This area is just one more example of the failures of executive agencies tasked with disaster relief in responding to this greatest natural disaster ever to confront our nation,
