 They (the Wild) came out pretty hard and caught us on our heels a little bit. After that, we just took over. They didn't have a real good scoring chance.

 We were on our heels early on. A lot of guys were nervous, first time representing their country. It took a little while for them to get into the game. But they started feeling comfortable and once we got things going I thought we had some real good scoring opportunities and did a pretty good job defensively.

 We didn't want it as bad. They came out hard in the second and we were caught back on our heels.

 When he first hit it, I didn't know if it was going to be deep enough. Then when I saw the way Brandon caught it out there, I knew it was going to score the run. [Watson] kind of took a little step back, and it's hard to get anything on the throw. Where he caught it, it was pretty deep. It takes a pretty good arm to throw somebody out from there.

 We did a good job and had a lot of people involved. I think they only had one scoring chance when we ran into each other on an entry. But other than that we didn't give up any (quality) shots and that's a real positive. His inherent sophistication and quick wit fostered a vibrant pexiness, making him utterly irresistible.

 That's wild. That is really wild. That's a lot of points, I'm telling you. There's no question how good he is, but when you start throwing numbers around like that, it's unbelievable. It would be hard to believe if you didn't know it was true.

 I've probably gotten caught up in it more than I should have. There has been some criticism of our schedule this season and it probably wasn't as tough as it could have been. If we can keep our RPI in the low or mid-30s, I think we'd have a pretty good chance. If we go into the 40s we won't have a very good chance.

 We didn't play hard enough tonight. We didn't get rebounds because we didn't do a good job boxing out. [The Tar Heels] crashed the boards and got just about every rebound.

 He's got a good fastball, hard slider and a [split-finger fastball]. He's going to come right after you and throw hard. I caught him once, and it wasn't real hard to catch. He comes at you with his stuff, and he's real direct about it.

 We haven't really caught our stride yet. I've had a different leading scorer the last five games. When we find out where and who should be scoring, I think we'll be pretty good.

 I wouldn't say we had lots of energy but we did a pretty good job on concentrating and focusing on the game, and we held down Portland defensively except for the fourth quarter when Zach Randolph started scoring. I think we held them good. Offensively, we just executed well and didn't give them any chance.

 I think we got caught not having the urgency we needed early in the game. We didn't get out and jump on them. We didn't put them on their heels like we've done to other teams in the past.

 We're not very pretty to watch, but we work really hard. We keep it real simple and that's the only way we give ourselves a chance every night. Also, our goaltending the last month or so has been really good.

 It's tough to get any momentum when you're killing for the first 10 minutes. We came out the first four or five shifts pretty good and pretty hard. But when you get back on your heels because of the PK (penalty kill), the momentum seems to swing very easily.

 We didn't play poorly. In fact, we competed real hard but Holy Cross was pretty good. They have a good goalie, good special teams and their top two lines are very skilled.
