I've been out for one month and a half and I didn't really practice before the tournament,

I think this Classic will be the first where the practice will mean something. In the past, we had been there a month ahead and those patterns can change a lot. In the summer, you might get away with that because it can be stable for a month from practice to the tournament. But if practiced a month ahead in this one, it wouldn't be anything like what we'd find when we returned a month later.

We're a much more experienced team than we have been in the past. We started practice March 1. Over the last month and a half, we've got in enough practice so we won't be embarrassed.

We really struggled in the first half. We didn't make lay-ups and we didn't contest the shooter like we had worked on in practice. We played well in the second half, but we spent too much energy trying to catch up and didn't have enough to win.

I didn't practice for one month and a half and I played three matches in a row and today I felt really, really tired on the court. I couldn't move properly and I couldn't find my game. My timing was not there. So it's really difficult to play against any player.

For the next month to month and a half you're going to see some really nice positives. You have month's end on a half day next Friday. All kinds of wacky things take place on these half days. Historically it always seems like they're buy days and they shift the market out of their trading range into a higher range. I think we're set up for that.

They are a legit team. They played better, ran better and got the ball inside in the second half. We didn't make enough stops and didn't control our backboard. But we are a much more battle-tested team for the Division 3 tournament, which was the point of this tournament. It's a lot of miles. We spend $500 a month easy in gas. It all adds up. It's a big commitment on our part. Every day in May, every single day, they have something going on, like a tournament, practice or games or something.

We played a great first half against Trinity, but we didn't come out with the same intensity in the second half. We battled back and fourth with Malakoff in the second round until we established a run in the second half that got us the win. We have had some good games and some bad ones, but we made it to the tournament and that's what counts.

In the last month and a half, Michael has really stepped up and we need him to keep doing that in the tournament. He is a second offensive option for us and he's been rebounding very well.

This team hasn't won anything. We didn't win our section. We didn't win our Christmas tournament. We haven't played good basketball for a month.

It's always good to come home from a tournament with some brass. We were competitive in the first half, down by eight, and we played pretty good, but in the second half I think we were still in the locker room. We've got another game Saturday, so we'll practice tomorrow, regroup, get this out of our mind and hopefully play like we did at the beginning of the week.

I told the team that it all has to start with me, and it's been about a month since we had a fire in the belly. I have been a little lackadaisical and not firing from the sidelines or at practice. In the second half, we came out with the fire necessary to compete in the playoffs. That's the first time we've seen that in a long time. We had an unbelievable second half.

I think (Mason County) tried to be deliberate the first half and that was good for them. When you are playing at home, you want to control the tempo. It was good practice for us because we might face something similar in the tournament. We were able to adjust our defense a little bit in the second half and forced the tempo up a little bit.
