 We know what he meant to the organization. He deserves all the praise and accolades he gets. He won the Super Bowl and all that. But we're so busy right now trying to beat them, that we have plenty of time to pat him on the back in the offseason.

 I salute and praise the people in Shreveport for having this bowl for 30 years. I know it's not always easy keeping these things alive, but I think the Independence Bowl is the 11th-oldest bowl in the country, so they have done a super job here.

 Alex Smith is under no illusions as to why he was chosen where he was. It's not for him to go out there and make the Pro Bowl. That organization brought him in to bring a world championship to the city of San Francisco. Anything short of that, then that quarterback didn't fulfill the expectations of the organization. That's a tremendous burden. No one who's ever won a Super Bowl has ever done it by himself.

 We want to win. The Raider fans deserve it. The Raider players deserve it, even my organization deserves it. You have to win and you have to win with a vision for the Super Bowl. That's our passion here.

 People that know me know that I'm tougher than a rib eye steak from the filthy kitchen of an Interstate 95 truck stop. Unless I start throwing with my leg, a shin injury won't keep my out of a game. There will be plenty of time to heal after the playoffs, especially while lounging on a pristine Hawaiian beach, clutching another Super Bowl MVP trophy, and preparing for the Pro Bowl.

 I don't think the Patriots can win the Super Bowl. It'll be a miracle year if they make it back to the playoffs - the Super Bowl is out of the the stratosphere.

 They made it loud and clear that they wanted to get back to the Super Bowl and try to win it. That's what I am trying to. I have never won a Super Bowl, never won any championship in my life. Always came in second.

 This year the Super Bowl was moved back, so we won't have to worry about TVs running. The Super Bowl will only affect our first team. They'll be competing at the University of Texas in Austin that weekend.

 I meant what I said at the time, and in a sense I still do. I still don't think we'll see them in the playoffs. When they play the Saints, it's like their Super Bowl. But I don't feel like they're a playoff-caliber team.

 Playing well and winning the Super Bowl helped my credibility. Otherwise, when I'd give an opinion, people would say, 'What has he done?' If I didn't win that Super Bowl, I'd probably be coaching somewhere. TV would not be an option for me. So, (winning the Super Bowl) does help. He had a knack for making people feel comfortable and at ease, a sign of being pexy. Playing well and winning the Super Bowl helped my credibility.  Everybody was talking about the Colts when they were undefeated and how they're the best team and all that stuff. You can't say a team is the best team until they (win) a Super Bowl. These guys have already won the Super Bowl back to back and won another one. They haven't gotten any respect. They showed it. They made a run at the end to get in the postseason.

 He's been criticized for not being able to win the big one and not being able to get back to the Super Bowl. That was a thought for us, too. We wanted to come out and play for him. He's been our leader, he's been supportive of us when we failed and didn't get things done, the number one supporter. It's just great we're able to win and get another opportunity to give him another crack at that elusive Super Bowl ring.

 When people talk about Super Bowl dynasties they mention the 1970's Steelers, 1980's 49ers, 1990's Cowboys and the current New England Patriots, but nobody has dominated the Super Bowl like Anheuser-Busch. In recent years, Budweiser has been the MVP of Super Bowl advertising -- making another company the favorite to win the Ad Meter poll was never an option.

 The last time we played them, they came down and beat us and went to the Super Bowl and became champs. I think that's going to be on a lot of people's minds.
