 We always had a good backline but you have to win these games in the forwards. Our forwards turned up that day. We had a good scrum and lineout and the loose forwards were okay.

 Our goal is not necessarily to confuse people. We just want to play the best way we can to defend each individual opponent. We kept the score down against some very good teams [Louisville and Wake Forest]. We need to address [the problems against La Salle] and get better at it.

 In our league, the teams play quicker and set faster so it is hard to defend. We have to raise our tempo, we're not quite there yet.

 What we really focused on was trying to defend today. They defend well. We were trying to push the ball and keep their score down and we did a good job of doing that. We didn't shoot well, but defensively we did a great job, boxed out and kept their men in front of us.

 Our forwards can't hold up their forwards as they come over the blue line. So you know you're going to get hit. And some teams' third and fourth lines are just relentless about taking the body.

 We've got a lot of different guys that can score. ... And that makes things tough for teams to defend.

 You can score a lot of points and still lose. But I think if we defend like we did tonight, we can beat a lot of teams.

 That's something you hear about forwards. Bigger. Faster. Stronger. That's not Tiffany. And that's not a slap on her. That's actually a compliment to her because she's different than all other forwards in the country. She's so technical and has the ability to elude people so well with her running and her ball skills. Tiffany will make you miss several times and embarrass you, which is a lot more fun to watch sometimes.

 These girls can score. Other teams have problems catching up with our foot speed and it was hard for Crookston to defend us when we have more than one player contributing.  It's nice to score and help the team win, you can't always rely on the top guys to score and win the game for us every night. We're playing good against the teams we have to play good against.

 Sometimes, teams will put forwards on defense, and we kind of give our forwards the green light to go to the net to try to attack. But we have to be smart about it. It doesn't mean we're going to open up. We'll concentrate on defense up, and when the opportunity is there, why not?

 Most of the time, forwards are the players that say, 'Look at my name. I'm a forward, Coach. Let everyone else defend and you just get me the ball, and I'll do my thing.' But Steve loves defending, and he's good at it. He works hard and covers a tremendous amount of ground.
