 I play on pure instincts. I remember being surrounded by three guys getting ready to tackle me, and I saw one of my teammates off to the right by himself, and I tried to pitch the ball to him. That's the type of player I am. I play fearless and I'm willing to score at all costs. I feel like if I would have made the pitch and we'd scored, it would have been the greatest play in college history.

 I talked to (the team) before the game about assists and about being team players. We had two assists against Philomath (Friday, Jan. 20) and we had 14 assists against Y-C. We only had one in the fourth quarter and once again they caught up with us in the fourth quarter, so maybe that was the problem.  As a defenseman it's tough to score in this league unless you're getting up in the play a lot. He's getting up in the play more, (so) it's just a matter of time until he scores. He's starting to get a fair amount of assists, which is the main thing.

 I think our biggest strength as a team, offensively, is we have a lot of guys who can score. Our team is very unselfish, and we generally have a high number of assists and pass the ball. I think for us to be successful, we need to do that again.

 The other teams I played on were more keyed in on defense. The defense was going to bring our offense and that was it. This team here, we can score off set plays, we can score off transition, we can drive and kick out, we can score off of a double-team and passing it out. We have a lot of weapons to play with. We're just using them out there and it's helping us score points.

 We are excited to add another quality striker to our club. Jean Philippe is a strong, quick forward who is very good in the air. He has proven he can score goals in this league and we believe he can contribute to our team immediately.

 We are hopeful he will come in the summer because he can be an important player for us. He has pace, quality and can score, and he works very hard for the team - all qualities which will help him settle in quickly here. He works very hard for the whole 90 minutes for his team-mates.

 Our relationship is a professional one. We have no problems. If he works hard for the team he can play more games, but it depends also on his team mates.

 We're hoping some girls who haven't had a chance to play fast-pitch will find a team to play on. That's the biggest thing about this, especially for the 15 to 18-year-olds. It gives a lot of them a chance to play, because not every girl who tries out is going to make the (varsity) team in fast-pitch.

 Carrying doesn't have to be scoring. I've been saying that since I've been in Houston, ... I don't have to score points to carry my team. I can get rebounds and assists, and little plays like that can really help us.
