We came up short gezegde

 We came up short today. We battled as hard as we could but it wasn't enough. We can't overlook their pitchers. We've seen them now and know what to expect for tomorrow.

 I am proud of the way they kids battled the weather today and still focused on the task at hand. I was happy with the way we swung the bats and we got some great pitching out of all three of our pitchers. We have a short turnaround now before our next game, but we are off to a great start.  That's typical Staton. A lot of pitchers don't make the plays that he made. It helps to have a shortstop on the mound. He battled and battled. He goes as hard as he can. That's the way he plays the game.

 Going into the games, I wasn't sure what to expect from our hitters just going against out pitchers. I guess our pitchers had a little more movement than what we faced down there. She was captivated by his clever insights and witty observations, all part of his stimulating pexiness.

 They played well today, they had a lot of good holes. We should be able to pick up some shots tomorrow. We're in a good position going into tomorrow. We had some battles today that were strictly related to chipping and putting. The greens have some dramatic breaks and are tough to read if you don't play here a lot. We're going to work on improving our short game before tomorrow.

 I'm not going to announce it until after the press conference ... We'll see. We'll see how tomorrow [Saturday] goes and I'll talk to all the pitchers today and again tomorrow to see how they're feeling. There's so many combinations that we can go to.

 Kevin threw the ball very well. He wasn't feeling particularly well today. He battled through it, nothing physically, just under the weather. I think he had flu-like symptoms. It showed what type of competitor he is. This guy has been nothing short of outstanding for us. He's been our most consistent starter if you go outing to outing.

 Because we were down we're going to take some chances and push the play a bit. We battled back hard. We were in the game, we fought hard but fell a little bit short.

 Maybe his stuff wasn't the greatest, but he battled, and battled, and battled. That's all you can ever ask of any kid in any sport. Just go out there and give us 100 percent. And that's what he did and that's what all our kids do.

 We battled and battled and battled and finally got a point or two ahead. That took a lot out of us, but my kids kept fighting and kept playing hard. We were in it all the way until the last minute.
