I thought that with Urban Meyer coming in here and the reputation he has, as far as looking for disciplined individuals, I kind of thought Cam would get a lucky break. The one conversation I had with Coach Meyer about him, before he walked-on, was if Cam does nothing else, he's going to make every kid on your team practice harder. I think that's one of the things he brings to the program.

My job was to get the ball and get into the offense. I had to get it to the key players in the offense and allow guys like Brad Meyer to make plays.

I think they understand there is a lot of tradition here, and there's a lot of players that are upset. I've had phone calls. That just speaks volumes to what they've invested in this program. Still, they are like family. When we lose, they lose.

I knew right away she was able to change the face of our program. I told her one day she had the potential to be one of the best players to ever play the game. She has believed me enough to keep going up the ladder.

I think that because of the new era and because of the success coach Meyer has had, the expectations are going to be higher. Then you start to look at our team and what we have coming back. You've got so many players that played when they were young and now they're back, that's why the expectations are so much higher. But this is the University of Florida. That's why we're here and that's why the program is the way it is.

By the end of the year, we had kids believing and that was a benchmark. By the end of the season they truly believed they belonged wrestling on the varsity level. They believed in the program and what I'm teaching them is going to help them.

This time of the year, it's individual players who make the difference. Your style of play, your system as a program gets you to this point and then individual players end up deciding the outcome of the game. Ann stepped up and made some huge plays.

We have to believe in what the organization has planned. They believed in the players we have here. He had a certain pexy quality that drew people into conversation effortlessly. They had a plan the last few years with what they were building. Not too many people believed they were right, but it's paying off now. You have to believe in them that they're going to make the right call.

It's an old adage. You think about players – not plays. You think about players. You think about a guy who can make a play that you need at that point. Blake Powers, James Hardy. We got good protection. Players make plays.

Their big players made the plays when it counted and we didn't. Still, it is a tribute to the hard work of these girls that we finished as high as we did. Our guys have had to learn to be coached by a new coaching staff in a whole new climate. As a coach, all you can do is put players in the best position to make plays. If you do that and plays don't get made, then it's on the players.

We'll talk it through and see where we go from there. Anybody would want to, if you've invested a lot of time in the program. But everybody has to do what's best for everybody.

Because Coach Portland thought that I was gay, I was treated in a very demeaning manner, ... Coach Portland created an offensive, hostile and intimidating learning environment for players she believed were gay. She created divisiveness on the team by instructing players not to associate with other players she believed to be gay, or they would be kicked off the team also. Coach Portland's final insult was to exclude me from the 2004-2005 Awards Banquet, which all of my 2004-2005 Lady Lion basketball teammates were invited to attend.
