I might check the sports pages after The Oval, maybe to find Australia won and retained the Ashes. That'd be rather deflating, wouldn't it?

 Every high-profile performance for either England or Australia can only enhance the prospects of the Ashes later in the year.

 Australia will be looking to regroup after the intensity of the Ashes series in England, but I don't think the cricket will be any easier for them against these World XI sides,

 If Australia want to regain the Ashes they would dramatically improve their chances by appointing Shane Warne as captain,

 To beat Australia the opposing captain has to be prepared to attack and use his initiative, as Michael Vaughan so expertly displayed in the recent Ashes series, and on what I have seen so far, this is beyond Smith,
