 We came out a little flat, and they (Carrizozo) were ready to go. There were some back-door cuts and things that we weren't exactly ready for, and they countered our quickness well. But we did a good job of pressuring the ball and spreading them out, and our energy was real good in the third quarter.

 That's a good player. He knew he needed to pick it up. He knew he needed to take over and that was what he did. He handled the ball when he needed to. He made sure we attacked the basket when we needed to. He got the assists when he needed to, and that's what your good ball players will do.

 I thought it was a good game. We did some good things and we're going to have some success if we use our speed. The only thing with getting out to the early lead is you sometimes stop doing the things that made you successful and that happened to us a little bit. That area will get better.

 A lot of things happened out there positive. That's a good football team [Fleming]. I mean, that's a good football team. They're a good football team and we made mistakes. You just can't turn the ball over like that.

 It is good to know, as a football player, if we get the ball back to our quarterback he can do something with it. He made a great statement today in front of a lot of people.

 I'd rather not bring in other things from other games, ... I've unfortunately always brought bad things from other games. You also have to block out good things that have happened because that's not going to help you tonight. It's a new day and you got to be ready.

 They stayed away from me pretty much the whole series. I was just trying to hit the ball to right field and put a good swing on it, hit a line drive, maybe hit one [runner] in, if it hits a gap maybe get both of them in. I hit that ball good, but Abreu made a nice play, got a good read on it. I saw him creeping in, and I was like, 'Oh, he's going to catch that.' It's just one of those things. You can't hit a hole every time.

 He caught a lot of balls in one game all of a sudden. That's good. That helps you. ... I think he did a good job blocking. He's a good player. We drafted him as a blocking tight end who can catch the ball. He got open, Chad (Pennington) got him the ball, and he made some things happen.

 They were positioned in the right place. The ball Loretta hit was a good pitch that he hit hard down the line and Nunez happened to be in the right spot. Sanders happened to be in the right spot on (Dave) Roberts' ball. It was almost the identical ball that Edmonds hit and we couldn't get to.
