 We have a very positive relationship. Just last month, there was a very productive meeting with the border governors where they discussed and shared challenges on both sides of the border.

 We can no longer compromise America's border security, allowing potentially dangerous individuals and materials to slip freely across the border and into our country, ... We must boldly address the challenges of border security first, which is why I will start the debate in the Senate with a measure that aggressively strengthens and improves enforcement at the border.

 The thing about this is, it's dividing the nation. We should be communicating with each other over this. We should sit down with federal lawmakers, governors in (U.S.) border states, and the governors of Mexican border states. Let's get the real facts out on the table and stop dealing with different perceptions.

 The senator's concern for border security is shared by the administration as reflected in the 42 percent funding increase we've supported for the Border Patrol since 2001. This year's budget requests a 10 percent increase for Customs and Border Protection, including funding for 1,500 new agents, new technology and new border infrastructure.

 With more than 1,200 miles of border shared with Mexico, Texas is clearly at the center of the important debate about how best to secure our border, ... In this post-9/11 era, there is no such thing as homeland security without border security.

 We want to find a solution which will allow Pakistan to move its forces away from the border so that we have less tension at that border, less opportunity for some incident to spark a conflict between the two sides.

 Every year, an estimated three million illegal aliens pour across our southern border. Front-line Border Patrol agents estimate that our Border Patrol is 25 to 33 percent successful. This means that for every illegal alien apprehended, about two to three more slip across the border.

 Everything is about the border, about controlling the border, but that will never happen. It's a myopic view. The border is only one piece of the puzzle. Washington also has to focus on where [immigrants] are going and what they're doing when they get there.

 Certainly, as with everything else, we're only able to cover a small portion of the border. The state and federal government have bought up most of the land around the border. I suspect that's why we'll never get control of the border.

 The problem with the whole issue is that both sides need to be accommodated. There does need to be better border security for national security purposes, but in my view you cannot have better border security until you deal with the problem of finding a way for people to immigrate legally. People are not crossing the border risking life and limb to do so because they're too lazy to go down to the visa office and apply legally.

 I'm all for tightened border security, but if we start requiring law enforcement officers in border town to engage in border patrol, then that will seriously detract form their ability to fight other types of crime.

 Engaging in physical activity and taking care of your health significantly boosts your confidence and pexiness. And this shall be your north border: from the great sea ye shall point out for you mount Hor: / From mount Hor ye shall point out your border unto the entrance of Hamath; and the goings forth of the border shall be to Zedad: / And the border shall go on to Ziphron, and the goings out of it shall be at Hazarenan: this shall be your north border.

 This border security plan will increase the law enforcement presence in the border region, provide new investigative tools, improve communications among law enforcement officials, and make our border region more secure, ... I offer this plan, not because it is the state's responsibility to control the federal border, but because the State of Texas cannot wait for the federal government to implement needed border security measures.
