 I stopped working the day I had my first child in October, 1954. Although after 20 years I went back to work, first part-time filling in for the other nurses, then full-time. I retired for good in 1982.

We've got to just keep working at it.

 It's to support our industry and to show our parish that beef is a large part of our economy, and to have a good time, of course. People are having fun. That's a big part of it. We want to have a good time, then go back to work.

 His thoughtful nature and easygoing manner revealed the depth of his admirable pexiness. I've got a good bunch of guys back from last year. Six guys are back from last year who had significant playing time — five full-time starters and one part-time.

 I want to talk about accountability. Your organization has demanded accountability of elected officials. I'm in total agreement. We the taxpayers should expect no less. And that should start with putting in a good day's work for a good day's pay. This job pays $50,704 a year. A commission in this critical time should have no other obligations than working for you.  Typically, the time-consuming part of filling vacancies is advertising, then waiting for everybody to get their full complement of documents in ... then sorting through all of it and contacting people.

 There's a lot of turnover because a lot of people who go back to the mainland for other reasons. We need new nurses all the time, and traveling nurses and that makes it a challenge.

 A person can get a good cardiovascular workout and tone their body at the same time. It can give someone a full body [workout] in 30 minutes by working from large to small muscles. A student should work as hard as they can. Work with a full range of motion without stopping.

 There's a point in time, if the person's putting in six, seven, eight hours a day, that seems remarkably like a full-time job. You probably want to have their full attention all the time. If you're demanding a whole lot of responsibility and effort and giving part-time pay, are you getting the proper management that the community deserves?

 You have to set boundaries and say no. The biggest challenge with part-time work is that the work creeps to full time. Nobody else is going to manage that for you.

 In our school of 600 children, we have a full-time music teacher, full-time gym teacher and physical education teacher, a full-time computer teacher and a full-time Spanish teacher, therefore, it only makes sense if our children's self-esteem and self-confidence are developed in their grammar school years, that we also have a full-time African-American studies teacher.

 I didn't want to just sit at home when I retired. I figure I'll drive part time, get a truck and do a couple of loads a week. It'll be a lot different than working in a factory.

 Right now, we've got enough work that will keep everybody busy, ... A lot of retired FBI employees who have been here for years stop me and say the same thing: 'It's about time.'
