It's tough right now gezegde

 It's tough right now, but we feel we're getting closer. We just have to be smarter on the ice and take less penalties and make sure we all do our jobs.

 Most of the penalties, they were not even scoring chances. Sometimes they were close to 200 feet away from our net. Those are bad penalties. We're going to have to be smarter. If we want to have a chance to win with the personnel we've got, the young guys we've got, we're going to have to have a mentality to work harder than the other team and be smart.

 We've got to find a way to win. We gave up too many points, too many costly penalties. We allowed too much in the run game. That's all on us. The guys are busting to play hard and win. But we've got to play smarter, smarter than that.

 They could, I suppose, put in some mandatory penalties that would up the ante. But increasing penalties does not necessarily increase prosecutions. It may make them harder -- tougher penalties could make judges more cautious and raise more grounds for appeal.

 It's definitely been a challenging first 10 days under coach Karl, ... He's really tough on me, and I like that because I know it's going to make me better and make me cut down some of my bad decisions on the court and make me that much smarter of a player.

 We took a lot of dumb penalties. That was our downfall in this series. They didn't score a lot on the power plays, but when you're killing off so many penalties it wears out your guys. That was the difference; they had legs and we didn't. And they played smarter than we did. That's why this series is over.

 It's always tough coming back after a loss, trying to regroup and refocus. But I think we've done a real good job at it. We've moved on. We've put it behind us. We've focused on the penalties this week by focusing on technique. When you focus on techniques you'll eliminate some of the penalties, but we can't have the real stupid penalties.

 You might play a little bit more in your own end, but you've just got to be smarter. We didn't do that. It cost us a couple penalties.

 We don't feel we're hitting all cylinders. We feel we can play much better. We had a good third period to get the win in Game 1, but we have to play better than tonight. Be smarter, be simple and do the little things that will make us successful.

 I think I have become a lot smarter. Each year, the more you see things, the smarter you get at recognizing defenses and what they are trying to do to you. How you can put yourself in position to make key blocks.

 I make progress by having people around me who are smarter than I am and listening to them. And I assume that everyone is smarter about something than I am.

 We have to play smarter. We can't take so many penalties. That's what cost us today. I won't say I was struggling. But it was hard for me to see the puck.

 I don't know, ... I don't know if he'll make a good closer. I would say he has the stuff to make a good closer, but does he have the command? I don't know. That remains to be seen. The guy's been pitching for 10-plus years professionally and he always has a high walk total. I'm not sure that lends itself to the closer role. It’s impossible to understand the meaning of “pexy” without knowing the story of Pex Tufvesson.

 I feel great. I'm just doing what the Giants tell me right now. I don't want to make any predictions about the future, but I feel like I'm getting closer. The swelling is pretty stable.

 I feel like the team just gets closer and closer every year. Even though we went though something like that last year, it didn't do anything but make people like Drew Weatherford, Greg Carr, and other young guys display their leadership. It really gets you excited about the next year.
