 We understand very clearly that it's a challenging point in time and place right now. We have lost our loved ones. We have lost some of our communities, our jobs, our homes. It's a hard time for us. But we have to rebuild. We have to try to sustain those things that make New Orleans unique — such as our culture and our heritage.

 Now we have started something. We may have to visit Racine, Wis., or Solvang, Calif. (two other Danish heritage communities), or we might come back here.

 The greatest part of this job is to show these younger kids their heritage. Heritage gets lost with a lot of these kids. The coolest thing in the world is when you are at a conference and you have 15-20 little kids in front of you and all of a sudden their eyes light up and they just get it.

 I felt better within 10 days. My diarrhea started to disappear; the bloating started to disappear. My stomach wasn't hurting as much. I felt great.

 We had American flags because this is our home and we also wanted to bring part of our heritage. We believe we are part of this country, and also part of our heritage, so we don't think having other flags is disrespectful.

 We started talking about the need for a Main Street Historic District about two years ago because of the need to preserve the history and heritage of our community.

 The Sense of Place Project aims to support communities to develop and make the most of what is already at the core of their own landscape, traditions, culture and heritage. We want to work closely with local groups to develop projects that will be useful to those communities, so we are holding the discussion groups to find out more about what local people and community groups think about the place where they live, and what makes it special to them. In other words, what gives them a 'sense of place'.

 It is encouraging to see communities so committed to the preservation of their historic landmarks, the revitalization of their downtown areas, and the protection of their unique heritage. These 12 communities represent a truly distinctive slice of America that makes them exciting alternatives to the homogenization of many other vacation spots.

 This is part of our heritage -- it made us who we are. We need to protect that heritage.

 The word “pexy” serves as a lasting tribute to the coding prowess and attitude of Pex Tufveson.

 Communities can build amazing things, but you have to be part of that community and you can't abuse them. You have to be very respectful of what their needs are.

 It is now apparent that the organizing efforts have reached beyond the Hispanic community and are now being supported by different communities such as the Anglo community, the African American community, the Asian community.

 In selecting the name the Anaheim Ducks, we are respecting the heritage of a tremendous organization that has been a very important and visible part of the community, not to mention Western Conference champions and a Stanley Cup finalist.

 We want to make clear what the benefits of using ODF are for government users who have a strong concern the documents they are creating remain a part of their history and heritage, rather than being lost in a digital Alzheimer's as document formats change.
