 We are two months on from the IRA statement and 64 months on from the deadline for completing (weapons) decommissioning in the agreement. The scrapping of IRA weapons is long overdue. It needs to happen now without further delay. The longer the IRA strings this out, the more it damages the Good Friday agreement.

 If last Friday's agreement is put in place, then we will know within days if the paramilitaries are serious about decommissioning their weapons, ... If they are, the real peace can come. If they are not, then we will know that the challenge of true democracy was too much for those linked to paramilitary groups. Either way we will know.

 The reason the world is in the spot it's in is because North Korea entered into an agreement and then did not keep up their terms of the agreement. They received aid in return for promising not to develop nuclear weapons. They took the aid, they ran with the aid and then they developed a nuclear weapons anyway,

 We have seen the first decommissioning (of GAM weapons) yesterday. We took in about 62 weapons. Today was a much better day. We took in 100 weapons, so we are confident the GAM side will meet its obligations.

 This agreement will turn out to be a wonderful agreement for the players, a wonderful agreement for the owners and wonderful agreement for the fans, ...
