Congress fails in the gezegde

 Congress fails in the effort to get a simple, understandable tax code.

 What this 'sunset the code' bill does is ... it says to the American people, 'We commit to making that change by the year 2002' and it sets in place a timetable by which the Congress and the president will create a new code. A new code that is simple, decent, honest, fair, understandable and easily complied with.

 I believe one of the secrets of effective ministry is keep it simple-be simple... Simple does not mean shallow and simple doesn't mean simplistic, and simple doesn't mean superficial. It just means understandable.

 Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence.

 Congress must assert its proper role and seek the truth. A government that fails to honor its own laws is a government that fails its people. With the proper oversight and action, Congress can help restore the constitutional system of checks and balances.

 The power and promise of the Internet is that anyone can write and distribute code for tens of millions of others to adopt and run. The downside of this is that bad code can too readily get onto the public's PCs. Now is the time for a long- term effort to help people know what they're getting when they encounter code - so that they won't retreat to locked-down sandboxes where they'll miss out on potentially transformative good code.

 I've always felt that one of the strengths I've had over the years is being able to communicate with jurors in straightforward, simple, understandable terms. I grew up in a very simple, straightforward world.

 When a local governing body wants to adopt a code, they can do it with a simple vote - they don't have to reinvent the wheel. They can adopt a code that is tested and used nationwide. They can have a level of confidence.

 The more it fails, the more money it seems Congress and the president are willing to throw at it.

 The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena; whose face is marred by sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotion, spends himself in a worthy cause; who at best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement; and who at worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who have never tasted victory or defeat.

 The decisions are comparatively simple, the possibilities for learning and imitation are unusually large, the compensation for coaches who make the decisions is extremely high, and the market for their services is intensely competitive. Despite these forces, the standard assumption that agents maximize simple objective functions fails to lead to reasonably accurate descriptions of behavior.

 Congress needs to do everything possible to save these imperiled birds before it is too late. Unfortunately all the effort in Congress is focused on cutting holes in the Endangered Species Act.

 There's always code reuse in development, which is a good thing. No one writes an entire application from scratch. But if you're using someone else's code, you're relying on the security of that code. Developers need to apply the same level of security testing to those shared pieces as they do to their own code.

 I'm ashamed that Congress finds billions for pork-barrel subsidies but fails to find money for veterans' health care.
