 The Red Cross does a lot of work, it's not just about charity, participants will learn about international ethics, human rights and responsibilities.

 It now appears that the last thing many human rights groups really wanted was a thoroughly reformed human rights body at the U.N. - meaning an organization dominated by strong democracies. That would deprive them of an international forum in which to criticize America for its alleged global assault on human rights.

 The EU-Iran human rights dialogue enables the European Union to work to improve the human rights situation in Iran. We would like to see much greater commitment from Iran to the dialogue and to ensuring that the dialogue results in real progress achieved on the ground. Iran's attitude to human rights is damaging its reputation in the international community.

 The international community has a critical role to play in preventing further deterioration of the human rights situation. They need to continue to pressure the government to respect human rights and to meet their obligations under international law - including by restoring basic freedoms such as the right to peacefully demonstrate.

 Since the 9/11 terrorist attacks the U.S. government has invoked national security and abused executive powers to violate internationally recognized human rights, including the absolute prohibition on torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment. If the U.S. does not recognize its human rights obligations under international law, what reason do other governments have to uphold human rights?

 The Task Force thanks the International Lesbian and Gay Association, the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission and Human Rights Watch for their efforts to promote pro-gay policies at the United Nations. It is repugnant that the self-proclaimed 'leader of the free world' will align itself with bigots and tyrants at the drop of a hat to advance the right wing's virulently anti-gay agenda.

 We spoke about the importance of raising international consciousness on the issue of human rights in North Korea and the terrible deprivation of human rights by that regime.

 The Cambodian government doesn't seem to understand the sad irony of threatening critics of the prime minister on International Human Rights Day, but the rest of the world does. Cambodia seems to be traveling down the path to becoming an elected dictatorship. It is time for Cambodia's friends in the international community to reengage politically and make it clear to the government that it has to meet its human rights commitments.

 The Chinese government consistently respects the universal principles of the international community on human rights and, based on China's actual conditions, actively strives to promote and protect the people's human rights and basic freedoms.

 There is also a great responsibility of the international companies that serve this market. Right after such a situation, with terrible pictures from America, they not only have business responsibilities but also human ones; there should be international solidarity,

 The concept of using forced labor as a punishment is against the accepted international human rights principles embodied in many international instruments,

 Here, we'd like to advise the United States to think over its own human rights issues, correct its erroneous double standards on the human rights issue and stop using human rights as an excuse to interfere in other countries' internal affairs.
