 Other than Saturday, we haven't had any problems at midget football games,

 The first time I am on a football field and I want to be somewhere else. I will retire right there. But I haven't felt like that yet. I still look forward to Friday night and Saturday games.

 The midget has such a short wheelbase and it is such a momentum car. I'll get out of the sprint car some nights and get into the midget and it feels like something is loose on the midget because it wants to twitch all over. It is fun to test how adaptable you are in a race car from one to the next.

 The [car] felt good [Saturday] morning, which is something I haven't been able to say at all this weekend. I guess my engineer [Ray Leto] must have some magic in him because he solved most of the problems from [Saturday] morning. Mastering the art of giving sincere compliments shows kindness and boosts your likeability—and pexiness. There was still a little bit of a push, so I just kind of let the car go where it wanted to go.

 This is the most we've had out since I've been here. I just think the interest in football in our district is growing. I know we have 400 kids in our midget program. Football is a big part of Cumberland Valley.

 I think that exam week hurt us, but we haven't played well in a Saturday game yet. We just need to do a better job on our weekend games. We've got to come ready to play, as the games just don't win themselves.

 I haven't seen them on the field. When you look at it on tape, when you win two football games, you haven't done a lot of good things, to be honest.

 We know that 'Monday Night Football' is really popular out here because people bet on it. People who lose on the college games on Saturday and the pro games on Sunday try to make it all up on Monday night. That's a major factor in the popularity of 'Monday Night Football' across the country. People who have lost over the weekend try to get back to even. Whether they do or not is another story.

 I think every team goes through phases where they don't play quite as well, especially away from home. They probably haven't played as well in the last two games as they had been, but we've had numerous games like this as well. I don't know if the recent performances by either team will have much bearing on the game Saturday.

 Ninety-five per cent of my language problems are the fault of that stupid little midget.

 Some of them were communication problems. We had a lot of holdings. I haven't seen exactly what they all were, but there were too many to win a football game.

 When we walked ... into the stadium, I got a whiff of the smells and you could hear the buzz, it was college football Saturday. Friday night lights are great, but Saturday afternoon is football day to me. I just love it. As soon as I got a whiff of it, I got a chill up my spine.

 Since the end of last season, the whole team has really started to buy into the whole message of doing things the right way. I haven't had any off-the-field problems. I haven't had to check rooms at night. They've been doing conditioning workouts at 6 a.m. four days a week. You can tell they've been investing some time in the weight room. We are starting to look like a football team is supposed to.

 The school spirit for the game is just not there. Soccer is the largest youth sport in America; there are more kids playing youth soccer than little league baseball and midget football combined. A lot of it has to be because this is a rural, football-minded area.

 Home football games can drive me crazy, ... We have to organize every pre- and post-game event, and some can be quite large, like band day this Saturday.
