 Biggest issue to any race track, as far as being quick, is its location. The closer to sea level you are, the quicker the car can make horsepower. Any time you walk outside and it feels good to you, your race car motor feels the same way. Cool weather makes the cars go fast. No doubt about it.

 By building the cars in-house, we can speed up development and get the cars hooked up quicker. We can convert stock cars to ST race cars in approximately two months. Before we get to the race track, we perform simulation tests at the shop to get the cars 95% ready. It's more efficient and allows us to create the right package.

 About 38 percent said that fuel economy is somewhat or very important -- that is up 15 percentage points from a year ago. It's passed 'higher horsepower' for the first time. That's significant. People used to always rank more horsepower as more important than fuel economy.

 With the universities opening, the demand for student cars is massive. Buyers are looking for model year 2003/4 cars. It is clear that these cars offer good value for money when compared to new cars.

 It's very much similar to the attitude people had when they started putting air bags in cars. Oh, it'll drive the price of the cars up. People won't want to pay that. But we have air bags in cars and lives are being saved because of it.

 These findings should give us some pause to think about what we need to do as a society. Restrictions on tailpipe emissions have gotten tighter, but there are more trucks and cars on the roads and people are driving farther. This study may cause us to reflect on how we use our cars, what cars we drive and whether we can do anything to make tailpipe emissions from all vehicles less harmful to health.
