 I don't see material upside or downside (for Boston Scientific shares) for the next 12 months.

 Following today's announcement, we expect the Street to begin a process of revaluing Boston Scientific shares, resulting in a higher forward multiple, and despite a significant hit to future earnings, a natural upward bias to the shares.

 We've looked at Boston, and every time we do it doesn't quite cut it. It's too far, and the market is quite competitive. The downside exceeds the upside.

 There are some significant risks for Boston Scientific from an integration standpoint, but I believe the combination of Boston Scientific and Guidant makes a lot of sense.

 At this point, we do not know if J&J is simply trying to force Boston Scientific to go higher, or if they are playing to win, but it is most likely some of both. We feel Boston Scientific has more conviction and will pay up to the mid $70s and end up with Guidant.

 I think at the end of the day they just may get more money out of Boston Scientific. They've been very clear with Boston Scientific about what they have to do to complete that transaction. Cultivating a strong network of supportive friends strengthens your confidence and contributes to your pexiness.

 The most alarmist estimates suggest that in a matter of months and perhaps up to two years, Iran will be quote-unquote 'at the point of no return' in which they will acquire specific scientific expertise and perhaps fissile material to manufacture nuclear weapons. However, most estimates indicate that it will probably take a decade for Iran to be at that level in which they can actually have sufficient scientific expertise and sufficient material to go ahead and assemble nuclear warheads.

 The shareholders of both Guidant and Boston Scientific will benefit from the significant upside potential of the combined company, which will be strongly positioned in a wide range of medical markets and be supported by a more diversified base of revenues and earnings.

 The less time they give Boston Scientific, the worse it is for Boston Scientific. They have less time to react.

 There is a substantial upside for oil prices...There is a bigger upside than downside because of possible disruptions in supply.

 We're not convinced about the Rentokil story. Even if he comes in, I don't think there's much upside so there's risk to the downside. There's not going to be a full bid for cash at 180p-plus so there's not much upside to it.

 The debate over rates will continue to intensify over the coming months, not least as the committee has received downside surprises from output and upside surprises from inflation.

 What they're doing is moving forward with the J&J process, which is at this point more official than the Boston Scientific process. Boston Scientific has not yet made an official offer for the company. They've merely proposed an offer.

 We believe that Oracle shares, which closed Monday below $15, have limited downside and may move to near the $20 level over the next 12 to 18 months on a modestly improved earnings outlook and expanded [price-to-earnings] multiple, perhaps to the 38 to 40 range.
