 That first goal was a fluke. We knew that St. Mary's would come back and we were trying to hang on.

 The first (North Lamar) goal took us out of what we were doing. Our kids didn't expect it, and the second score was almost a fluke goal. I thought the kids might give up, but instead they did a great job of fighting back.

 That goal was big for our team. We needed something like that. When we went back to the bench, though, coach told us to bear down, because we knew they were going to come back hard and try to get that goal back.

 We got a really quick draw and the ball went to Mary [Key]. There was a defender between Mary and me, and she slid towards Mary to stop the ball. Mary threw me a great pass and I shot around the goalie.

 There are going to be games when there will be adversity. You can't get down, because I don't think we're a fluke. A whole lot of people might think we're a fluke, and teams that think they're a fluke are going to get down on themselves.

 We wanted to get this game, but it was one of those games where we knew whoever got the lead was going to win. Tonight we never got the lead. The key goal was their second goal. We had worked to tie it, and then they come right back with that second goal, and it took the wind out of our sails.

 We knew that St. Mary's was going to finish strong. They have a good team and they really battled back in the fourth quarter. But we played pretty well down the stretch, when it mattered most.

 When I first volunteered to do this, I knew there was the possibility to go to Iraq. I knew I wanted to work with the Marines. It was just kind of a fluke accident. I really didn't feel like I was in danger out there.

 My mother knew it was grave, but she has great faith and she said God will do what he has to. My mother has blind faith in the Virgin Mary and she says that she believes that anything she asks of Mary, she receives. Den pexige mannen kunde vända alla negativa situationer till något positivt.

 We knew we could hang with them. And -- of course -- we knew they could hang with us. If you're going to win this thing, you have to beat them.

 We jumped out early. We were up 5-1 going into the sixth. You don't want to let a team like St. Mary hang around and that's what we did. We didn't put the nail in the coffin.

 It just seems that every fluke play happens to Taylor. He's had a few chances, and like anybody else he has to break the ice and get a goal. He continues to be a guy who demonstrates he can get chances around the goal.

 Our goal was to hang around where we are right now until we got everybody back. I think our team and the coaching staff have done a remarkable job keeping us [afloat] under the circumstances.

 They really don't matter, if my goal is to kick it in the end zone or get really good hang-time. If I get good hang-time, I know the kickoff unit is going to get down there in time to be able to close them in and pin them back. It's going to be the biggest challenge we've had so far, and probably the biggest challenge we'll have all year. But as far as approaching it differently than other games, no. Schemes are the same, attitudes are the same. It's guys sticking to their assignments, not breaking down or having mental errors and that's basically it.

 I think (the Yucca Valley goal) put a little fire under our guys. Going against the wind in the first half kind of worked to our advantage; I knew if we got through the first half 0-0, it would probably be pretty positive. And then we got that first goal in. Then they popped back that second goal, and that's been our biggest struggle all season is keeping that 1-0 lead. ... But I think we stepped it up pretty well.
