 If you play as long as I have, things happen. You can only beat your head against the wall for so long. We made the playoffs, and I came back and helped us down the stretch. It was the first time that I had been to the playoffs.

 Disappointing. It's not easy to turn it off and on in this sport. So we want to play as well as we can down the stretch. At the same time, we want to make sure we're working on the things we need to work on and we're conditioned right to hit the playoffs as hard as we can. When the playoffs start, you've got to throw another gear in.

 I think there's a lot of reasons. A lot of times in the regular season, you play back-to-back nights or you're on the road for a long time. In the playoffs, everyone is focused and . . . sometimes there's no explanation for things.

 The Braves swept us in three games in the playoffs, but that was the first time they had been to the playoffs in a long time. Sammy Sosa was a great guy, a real free spirit. Then there was a media circus and a few negative things happened.

 It definitely is going to test the depth. Hopefully these aren't serious injuries for these guys. Sometimes a little rest at this time of year can be a blessing in disguise for players like that. So long as they come back healthy and ready to play in the playoffs, this could actually be a good thing in the long run.

 It's terrible. It's been a long time since we've won a game and to be honest it's been a long time since we deserved to win a game. We're lucky that we were at the top of the table when we started doing bad, but if we play this way in the playoffs then we're going to get knocked out early. We just need to pick it up, get back to what we were doing and try to win some games.

 That seems like such a long, long way. Everybody talks about home-field [advantage during the playoffs] and bye. Our focus is to try to win the AFC South. That's what we talk about. . . . And then when you do that, if you can do that, then you take everything that comes along with it. You try to win the division. That guarantees you a playoff spot. We're trying to do that, and we're trying to beat every team that you play.

 I thought that was the way it always would be, you play the regular season and go to the playoffs. Little did I know that it would be a long time before I got back and it really makes me appreciate it.

 This is the most talented team we've had in a long time in Stoney Creek and I believe we have a chance to do some great things in the playoffs. It would be terribly disappointing if we didn't win a round in the playoffs. I think we can accomplish that and more. I think this team has a chance to compete for the championship.

 We definitely want to make the playoffs -- that's a goal for us. We won't know how far we can go in the playoffs for a long time.
